Glaucidium
Glaucidium is een geslacht van planten, waarvan Glaucidium palmatum (Japanse bospapaver) de bekendste soort is, een langzaam groeiende vaste plant met grote, papaverachtige bloemen die in het voorjaar verschijnen. Deze schaduwminnende plant uit Japan groeit het best in halfschaduw tot volle schaduw in humusrijke, vochtige, goed doorlatende grond. De plant is geliefd om zijn opvallende helder lila of violetblauwe bloemen en grote, handvormig gelobde bladeren.
